QASplus – Quality Assurance System for the Cable Industry
Overview
QASplus provides an efficient methodology to inspect and report on Completed Work Orders including Installations, Upgrades, Disconnects, etc. Quality Assurance Electronic Forms along with the Completed Work Order information is loaded into a Windows Mobile device. The QC Tech can go thru and check each item as they do using a paper form. Pass/Fail Criteria can be setup and be used to determine if the Job was acceptable or not. The QASplus Data is stored in a SQL Server Database where many reports are available.
- Completed Work Orders are Assigned for QC
- Assignments are downloaded into the Handheld during SYNC
- Data in Entered in the field by QC Techs including integrated Photos
- Data is uploaded back to the office
- Reports are available showing the findings of the QC Techs
QASplus Assignments
The QASplus allows the QC Manager to view and filter Completed Work Orders by Tech, Work Order Type, Date Completed, etc. which can then be assigned to a QC Tech. The Assignment Screen makes it easy to QC a sample of work from each Tech and Type of Work Order. After the assignments are made, the addresses are ready to be sent to the Handheld device.
Handheld SYNC
The Windows Mobile Handheld will send and receive data to a SQL Server Database via Cellular or via a Cradle connected to your network. During the SYNC process, the QC Data entered on the Handheld is sent and any new QC Addresses needing to be checked are sent back to the Handheld.

Reports
There are many Reports available including the QC Form, Weekly QC Results, Contractor Installs Report, In House Installs, Trap Breakdown, Disconnect Breakdown, Discrepancy Totals, Disco/Bury & Bore/PPW Report, In House Service Report, Specific QC Report, VOIP Only Report, QC Type Breakdown, and others.
Specifications
QASplus can run with or without the MONITOR SYSTEM. QASplus Desktop runs on Windows XP platform and integrates with Office Professional XP. A remote connection is required as a standard support tool. QASplus will run on a Windows 2003 Server with 4GB of RAM. The recommended PC Clients are at least Pentium IV PC with 2 GB of RAM or above. It requires approximately 30 MB for the software and about 170 MB for the data files (the size of the data files will vary depending upon the Customer base of each Cable Company). QASplus requires a MC7095 or comparable Windows Mobile PC with the recommended System Configuration on the handheld computer.
